Creating Practice Plans

Build effective, structured practice sessions with time blocks and activities.

Starting a New Practice Plan

  1. Navigate to Practice Plans in the sidebar
  2. Click + New Plan
  3. Enter a plan name
  4. Set the start and end dates for the plan period
  5. Click Create

Adding Practice Days

Add a Day

  1. Open your practice plan
  2. Click Add Day
  3. Select the day of the week
  4. Add optional notes for the day

Day Settings

  • Day of Week - Which day the practice falls on
  • Notes - General notes for the practice day

Adding Time Slots

Time slots divide your practice into focused blocks.

Create a Time Slot

  1. Click Add Time Slot within a day
  2. Set the start and end times
  3. Name the time slot (e.g., "Warm Up", "Team Drills")

Time Slot Types

Adding Activities

Activities are the specific drills or plays within each time slot.

Add an Activity

  1. Click Add Activity within a time slot
  2. Choose a source:
    • From Playbook - Link a play from your playbook
    • Custom Activity - Create a new activity

Activity Details

  • Name - Activity or drill name
  • Duration - How long in minutes
  • Instructions - Coaching notes and details
  • Assigned Coaches - Who leads this activity
  • Assigned Players - Who participates (optional)

Sample Practice Structure

🏈 Tuesday Practice - 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

📍 3:30 - 3:45 Warm-Up
• Dynamic stretching
• Agility ladder

📍 3:45 - 4:15 Position Drills
• QB: Footwork drills
• WR: Route running
• OL: Blocking technique

📍 4:15 - 4:45 Team Period
• Inside run
• Play action passes

📍 4:45 - 5:15 Situational

Using Templates

Save as Template

  1. Create a practice plan you want to reuse
  2. Click Save as Template
  3. Name your template

Apply a Template

  1. Create a new practice plan
  2. Click Apply Template
  3. Select a saved template
  4. Customize as needed

Best Practices

  • Keep time slots focused - 15-30 minute blocks work best
  • Include transitions - Build in water break time
  • Balance activities - Mix high and low intensity
  • Assign coaches - Ensure coverage for all groups
  • Link plays - Reference specific plays for team periods
