Managing Tags

Create, edit, and organize your team's tag system.

Creating Tags

From Tag Manager

  1. Go to Team SettingsTags
  2. Click Create Tag or the + button
  3. Enter the tag name
  4. Choose a color
  5. Select or create a category (optional)
  6. Save

Quick Create

When adding tags to content:

  1. Click the tag input
  2. Type a new tag name
  3. Press Enter or click Create
  4. The tag is created and applied

Tag Categories

Categories group related tags together for better organization.

Creating Categories

  1. Open the Tag Manager
  2. Click Add Category
  3. Enter category name
  4. Drag tags into the category

Example Categories

Editing Tags

Change Name or Color

  1. Open the Tag Manager
  2. Click on a tag
  3. Edit the name or color
  4. Save changes

Renaming a tag updates it everywhere—all content using that tag reflects the change immediately.

Move Between Categories

Drag and drop tags between categories in the Tag Manager.

Deleting Tags

  1. Open the Tag Manager
  2. Click the delete icon on a tag
  3. Confirm deletion

Deleting a tag removes it from all content that was using it. This cannot be undone.

Applying Tags to Content

Single Item

  1. Open the item (play, practice plan, etc.)
  2. Click Tags or the tag icon
  3. Select existing tags or create new ones
  4. Save

Bulk Tagging

In list views:

  1. Select multiple items
  2. Click Add Tags in the bulk action bar
  3. Choose tags to apply
  4. Apply to all selected

Filtering by Tags

Single Tag Filter

Click any tag to filter content to only items with that tag.

Multiple Tags

Use the filter panel to combine multiple tags:

  • AND - Items must have all selected tags
  • OR - Items can have any selected tag

Best Practices

Naming Conventions

  • Keep names short but descriptive
  • Use consistent capitalization
  • Avoid redundancy with categories

Color Coding

  • Use distinct colors for quick recognition
  • Group related tags by color family
  • Reserve bright colors for important tags

Category Structure

  • Create 3-5 main categories
  • Don't over-categorize
  • Review and clean up periodically

Team Alignment

  • Establish tagging guidelines
  • Train new members on tag usage
  • Document your tag taxonomy
