Manage your account security, including password changes and account deletion.

Change Password

Update your Athmete account password for enhanced security.

Steps to Change Password

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Click the Edit button to enter edit mode
  3. In the Security section, locate Change Password
  4. Enter your current password for verification
  5. Enter your new password
  6. Click Change Password

Password Requirements

Your new password must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 6 characters
  • We recommend using a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols

Re-authentication

For security purposes, you must verify your current password before making changes. This ensures that only you can update your credentials.

If you've forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login page to reset it via email.


Delete Account

Permanently delete your Athmete account and all associated data.

Before You Delete

Important

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Please read the following carefully before proceeding.

What gets deleted:

  • Your personal profile information
  • Your profile avatar
  • Your team memberships (you will be removed from all teams)
  • Your push notification subscriptions

What is preserved:

  • Chat messages you sent (displayed as "Deleted User")
  • Comments and annotations you created (attributed to "Deleted User")
  • Team data and content you contributed to (plays, practice plans, etc.)

Team Ownership Restriction

caution

You cannot delete your account if you are the owner of any teams.

Before deleting your account, you must either:

  1. Transfer ownership of each team to another member
  2. Delete the teams you own

Steps to Delete Account

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Click the Edit button to enter edit mode
  3. Scroll down to find the Delete Account card
  4. Click Delete Account
  5. Read the confirmation dialog carefully
  6. Enter your password to confirm
  7. Click Permanently Delete Account

After Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

  • You will be immediately logged out
  • You cannot log back in with the same credentials
  • Your email can be used to create a new account
  • Previous team members will see "Deleted User" for your contributions

Security Best Practices

  • Use a strong, unique password - Don't reuse passwords from other services
  • Update your password periodically - We recommend every 6 months
  • Log out on shared devices - Always sign out when using shared computers
  • Keep your email current - Ensure your email is up-to-date for password recovery

Suspicious Activity

If you notice any suspicious activity on your account:

  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Contact Athmete support
  3. Review your team memberships for any unauthorized changes
